Admissions Appeals

The Admissions Appeals process for all Equals Trust schools engages Nottinghamshire County Council’s Independent Appeals Panel.  None of the members who sit on the panels have any connection to Equals Trust schools.  Their decision is independent and final.

The cost of any Admissions Appeal is charged to the school and comes out of their allocated budget.

Admissions to secondary school are organised by Nottinghamshire County Council.

The vast majority of children joining our school in Year 3 come from Robert Miles Infant School.

We recognise this is an important transition point in the children’s education and we deliver a carefully planned induction to ensure the children’s move is smooth and seamless. This induction includes the Year 2 teachers visiting the Infant School to see the children in their setting, an Assembly delivered by the Junior School Headteacher, a taught lesson at the Junior School along with tours and parent meetings with Junior School staff. The SENCo also meets with families where there are specific needs so the Junior School can ensure additional support and provision is in place.
